James Stinson
Specialist Manager
Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Capital Equipment Sales, and Healthcare Technology
James commenced his recruitment career straight out of university, initially drawn to the industry for the corporate exposure and sales experience it offered. However, what began as a tactical career move quickly evolved into a meaningful vocation when he realised how recruitment could have a direct, life-changing impact on the individuals he worked with.
James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, which provided a solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology. This foundation has been particularly valuable in his recruitment across Medical Devices, where technical knowledge helps him speak the language of his clients and candidates. That said, James attributes most of his sector expertise to years of on-the-ground recruitment experience and deep engagement with professionals who generously share their insights.
His passion for healthcare recruitment stems from the pride he feels contributing to an industry that genuinely improves people's lives. Working in the healthcare sector means supporting companies and professionals focused on better patient outcomes, advancing medical technologies, and delivering solutions in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic settings across Australia. James’ appreciation for the sector only deepened after a brief departure, which reaffirmed how aligned he is with the industry's purpose and values.
One of James’ most memorable placements involved a candidate who had relocated internationally due to urgent family health circumstances. James successfully secured him a role with a global leader in medical manufacturing, avoiding a return to a less viable healthcare environment and delivering a life-altering outcome for the candidate and their family. It’s these moments that continue to fuel James’ commitment to the profession.
Clients and candidates value James for his professionalism, ethical standards, and long-term focus. He strives to do the right thing in every situation, whether advising on market movements, supporting strategic hires, or coaching candidates through complex decisions. With extensive experience recruiting across Medical Devices, Capital Equipment, Diagnostics and now Pharmaceuticals, James understands the intricacies of B2B sales in hospital environments, stakeholder engagement cycles, and long sales processes involving procurement, clinical evaluations, and tenders.
