Why did you decide to enter in the recruitment industry?
I had a good friend who was in the industry. I loved hearing his stories about meeting loads of different people, working with different companies and putting the two together. It sounded like a lot of fun and I was keen to be a part of it!
My position gives me insights into all the latest technologies & advancements in the Healthcare space and I’m truly excited to be a part of this industry as my role ultimately makes a difference to the safety and efficacy of the end users - the patients.
"Every day I learn something new about the Healthcare industry which fascinates me..."
What was it about healthcare that appealed to you?
I've always had a passion for Science - namely Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Anatomy, Animal Health, Sports Science and alternative medicines.
Every day I learn something new about the Healthcare industry which fascinates me, from the latest developments in Diagnostics to a breakthrough Cancer treatment, to market disrupting technological advances in Surgical Medical Devices such as hip replacements & wound care products.
"It not only impacts the children, but their families and wider communities."
Tell us about your most memorable role placement. What were the challenges and achievements?
There's been so many! I particularly enjoyed partnering with a Medtech start up to help them establish operations in Australia. Their technology massively impacts patients quality of life; namely children, and it allows them to be "normal" kids. It not only impacts the children, but their families and wider communities. Their 'go to market' strategy was disruptive and their requirements in their Commercial team were definitely out of the box. A start up environment isn't suited to everyone and it was quite the journey to be able to hit the nail on the head. We got there in the end and now Australian families have access to this device. Kids can be kids and their families can have peace of mind.
What education background do you have that helps you with your current job?
I studied Science and Psychology and am in the process of studying Canine Nutrition.
Next on the cards is my Personal Training qualifications.
"Nothing beats the feeling you get when you make that phone call to tell your candidate that they've got the job. It's electric!"
Why a client or candidate should work with you?
I'm passionate about working with clients and learning the ins & outs of their products, their culture, their business and I thoroughly enjoy acting as their advocate in the marketplace.
I enjoy working with a candidate and supporting them through the process of securing a new role. From the initial chat about what's important to them in their next role, to providing options (including some that weren't even on their radar), to coaching them through the interview process. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you make that phone call to tell your candidate that they've got the job. It's electric!
