Why did you decide to enter in the recruitment industry?

I was inspired by a friend who worked in recruitment and was drawn to the thrill of connecting diverse talent with innovative companies. I saw the potential for this industry to be dynamic and exciting, and I was eager to jump in and make my mark. Now, as a recruitment consultant in the healthcare space, I'm motivated by the opportunity to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies and advancements. My role allows me to contribute to the safety and effectiveness of healthcare products for patients, which is incredibly rewarding.

"Every day I learn something new about the Healthcare industry which fascinates me..."

What was it about healthcare that appealed to you?

I've always had an insatiable curiosity for science, from biology to alternative medicines. My passion for learning and staying up to date with the latest healthcare advancements is what drew me to this industry. Every day, I discover new breakthroughs in diagnostics, treatments, and surgical devices that continue to fascinate me. I find it gratifying to know that my work can positively impact patients and their families, by providing them with access to life-changing products that can improve their quality of life.

"It not only impacts the children, but their families and wider communities."

Tell us about your most memorable role placement. What were the challenges and achievements?

I've had numerous memorable placements, but one that stands out was working with a MedTech start-up to establish operations in Australia. Their innovative technology made a profound impact on children's quality of life, allowing them to live more comfortably and without restrictions. However, their "go-to-market" strategy was unconventional and finding the right candidates for their commercial team proved to be a unique challenge. After collaborating closely with the client, we were able to identify talented individuals who were a perfect fit for the start-up’s culture and needs. Witnessing the positive impact of this device on Australian families was truly inspiring and reminded me why I love this work.

What education background do you have that helps you with your current job?

I've always been passionate about science and psychology, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and how people think and behave. Additionally, my ongoing studies in canine nutrition and personal training qualifications provide me with a broader knowledge base that allows me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.

"Nothing beats the feeling you get when you make that phone call to tell your candidate that they've got the job. It's electric!"

Why a client or candidate should work with you?

My clients and candidates can count on me to be their biggest advocate and ally in the recruitment process. I take the time to understand their unique needs and goals, and I work tirelessly to match them with the best opportunities and candidates available. I provide guidance and support throughout the entire recruitment process, from initial discussions to post-placement follow-up. There's nothing more rewarding than the thrill of making that phone call to tell a candidate they've secured the job of their dreams, and I'm honoured to be a part of that journey.

Your Advice for Candidates

My personal advice for candidates is to take the time to truly understand what you're looking for in your next role. Think beyond just the job title and salary and consider the company culture, growth opportunities, and the impact you can make. Don't be afraid to explore new industries or roles that may be outside of your comfort zone - you never know where it may lead you. Additionally, make sure your resume and LinkedIn profile accurately reflect your skills and experience, and take the time to prepare thoroughly for interviews. Lastly, don't be discouraged by rejection - it's a part of the process and can often lead to new opportunities you may not have considered before. Keep an open mind, stay persistent, and trust that the right opportunity is out there for you.
