Why did you decide to enter the recruitment industry? |
As I was charting my career path, I was captivated by the multifarious demands and obstacles inherent in the role of a Recruiter. My fascination for business psychology, human behaviour, and my talent for devising creative solutions helped me realize that recruitment was the perfect fit for me! I started my recruitment career as a Global Executive Consultant and partnered with major multinational Fortune 500 clients. However, since 2012, I've been with HPG, where I specialise in recruiting within the commercial sector of the Healthcare Industry, providing proactive 360-degree recruitment solutions for Sales & Marketing, Analytical, Education, and Clinical Support roles across Australia's southern states and New Zealand. Although recruitment can be extremely challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding. |

What was it about healthcare that appealed to you? |
As a Healthcare Specialist Recruiter, I take pride in making a positive contribution to ANZ's healthcare community. Through my various recruitment channels, I strive to identify and secure the most qualified professional for each vacancy, thereby enabling the 'right and best' medical product/service/solution to be presented accordingly. I am inherently curious and enjoy learning continuously, which is why I find it thrilling to recruit within the Healthcare industry, as it provides me with the opportunity to continuously partner with ethical, passionate, and intelligent professionals, each playing a vital role in positive patient outcomes. Additionally, the healthcare industry is dynamic, agile, innovative, and constantly evolving, giving me the opportunity to learn about new medical solutions and services. |

Tell us about your most memorable role placement. What were the challenges and achievements? |
It is impossible to choose only one. Over the course of my recruitment career, I have had the privilege of partnering with hundreds of professionals, both nationally and globally. Every placement brings me a sense of joy, from a rookie with limited industry experience securing their first job to an infield Rep who goes on to win multiple awards, along with senior professionals who utilise their commercial, analytical, and marketing skills to drive effective business outcomes. Recruiting specifically across Healthcare is highly rewarding as every candidate placed adds positive value to patients' lives and the wider community. |

What education background do you have that helps you with your current job? |
I completed a Bachelor of Business, specialising in Property. The foundational subjects offered me an excellent grounding in business operations, while the property specialisations provided insights into business negotiations, sales, financial planning/modelling, ROI, and marketing/branding. My education, combined with my career work placements, have helped me acquire a comprehensive understanding of the commercial vacancies I recruit for. |
