The Clinic

This is an established integrated medical specialist provider with an established referral network. Owing to patient demand, the clinic is seeking a qualified Sleep and Respiratory Physician to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and/or on-site, providing expert care for patients with sleep disorders and respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing and managing a range of sleep and respiratory disorders, contributing to our comprehensive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations for patients with sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep-related conditions.
• Diagnose and manage respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and interstitial lung diseases.
• Develop and implement personalised treatment plans, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, and advising on the use of CPAP and other therapeutic devices.

Clinical Duties:

• Perform and interpret sleep studies and other diagnostic tests related to sleep and respiratory health.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other specialists to integrate respiratory and sleep care with cardiovascular treatment plans.
• Provide telemedicine consultations and remote monitoring for patients, as well as on-site consultations as required.
• Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care in line with the latest clinical guidelines and research.

Education and Training:

• Stay updated with advancements in sleep medicine and respiratory care.
• Provide education and guidance to patients regarding sleep hygiene, respiratory health, and the management of chronic conditions.
• Contribute to the professional development of clinical staff through training and mentoring.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy and medical documentation standards.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to manage patient scheduling and ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements:

• Medical degree and specialist qualification in Sleep Medicine and/or Respiratory Medicine.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders and respiratory conditions.
• Proficiency in interpreting sleep studies and other relevant diagnostic tests.
• Ability to work both remotely and on-site, as needed, with flexibility in work hours.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Current registration with relevant medical boards and professional bodies.
