The Clinic
This is an established integrated medical specialist provider with an established referral network. Owing to patient demand, the clinic is seeking a qualified Sleep and Respiratory Physician to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and/or on-site, providing expert care for patients with sleep disorders and respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing and managing a range of sleep and respiratory disorders, contributing to our comprehensive approach to patient care. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care:
Conduct assessments and evaluations for patients with sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and other sleep-related conditions.
Diagnose and manage respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and interstitial lung diseases.
Develop and implement personalised treatment plans, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, and advising on the use of CPAP and other therapeutic devices.
Clinical Duties:
Perform and interpret sleep studies and other diagnostic tests related to sleep and respiratory health.
Collaborate with cardiologists and other specialists to integrate respiratory and sleep care with cardiovascular treatment plans.
Provide telemedicine consultations and remote monitoring for patients, as well as on-site consultations as required.
Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care in line with the latest clinical guidelines and research.
Education and Training:
Stay updated with advancements in sleep medicine and respiratory care.
Provide education and guidance to patients regarding sleep hygiene, respiratory health, and the management of chronic conditions.
Contribute to the professional development of clinical staff through training and mentoring.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy and medical documentation standards.
Collaborate with the administrative team to manage patient scheduling and ensure efficient service delivery.
Requirements:
Medical degree and specialist qualification in Sleep Medicine and/or Respiratory Medicine.
Extensive experience in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders and respiratory conditions.
Proficiency in interpreting sleep studies and other relevant diagnostic tests.
Ability to work both remotely and on-site, as needed, with flexibility in work hours.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Current registration with relevant medical boards and professional bodies.
