About the company

About the opportunity
The Scientific technician will work within the Research and Clinical Bioanalytics Department and is integral in the compliant handling of incoming and outgoing clinical and non-clinical samples and materials, as part of a sample/material lifecycle management process.

Duties

• Receiving clinical and non-clinical samples
• Ensuring samples are receipted checked and input into systems
• Cataloguing minus 80 freezers to ensure better oversight of how samples are placed
• Cataloguing in online inventory systems
• Participate in internal and external audits as required
• Take responsibility for picking and returning samples for testing when requested by assay operators
• Contribute to ongoing RCB Bio21 laboratory maintenance and cleaning duties as required

Skills and Experience

• Must have a Bachelor of Science or Pharmaceutical
• Need to have 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail – good record keeping is paramount
• Able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Appreciation of data integrity requirements and lab management systems
• Strong digital skills – able to learn new systems quickly
• Very good organisational, planning and time management skills
• Very good digital skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Laboratory Management Software)
• Experienced in writing SOPs, Forms, and scientific reports
