The Hospital  
The hospital is located on the coast of Tasmania. The hospital provides a range of services to include Maternity, obstetrics, gynaecology, mental health, general medicine, surgical and palliative care.  
The hospital boasts ocean views and is a hospital of choice. The hospital is within radius of public hospitals, medical centre and Universities.  The hospital provides support to to public and private maternity patients delivering around 1,000 babies a year. 


The Position 

As an AHPRA Registered mid wife level 1 and above, you will be providing clinically appropriate nursing and antenatal and post natal midwifery care. In this role, you will be providing high-quality care to women during pregnancy, child birth, and postpartum periods.  The midwife will provide education and support to women and their families on various health issues related to pregnancy and childbirth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide antenatal care to women, including physical examinations and assessments, and monitoring fetal development and maternal health.
  • Assist women in childbirth, providing emotional support as needed.
  • Educate women and their families on various health issues related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to provide holistic care for women and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to professional standards, ethics, and guidelines 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in midwifery 
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Compassionate, patient, and non-judgemental approach to patient care.
Requirements
