About the opportunity
The Microbiology Quality Control Analyst will perform Microbial Content testing of raw materials, environmental monitoring and water in compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations to ensure product specifications are met.
Duties
- Perform routine Bioburden testing using pour plate, spread plate and membrane filtration techniques
- Perform Biological indicator testing
- Perform Environmental Monitoring, including viable and non-viable monitoring
- Participate in the investigation of out-of-specification results as required
- Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained/prepared in accordance with approved procedures
- General laboratory housekeeping and maintaining stock in the lab
- Use of Microsoft Office applications, internal documentation, and Quality systems
- Perform data entry in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Microbiology
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Must have a Microbiology background
- Experience using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Knowledge or working experience with Microbial content testing
- Familiar with the USP/BP/EP compendial requirements
- Strong pipetting skills and aseptic techniques
- Good knowledge of the TGA (PICs) and FDA requirements and knowledge of GDP and GLP
- Able to work alone or with a small team and communicate effectively
- Ability to problem solve, investigate historical data & trends and be a critical thinker
