About the opportunity

  • As the Medical Science Liaison/Medical Manager (MSL/MM), you will act on behalf of the Medical Department, establishing professional relationships with various agreed stakeholders in Australia.

  • Engaging in the exchange of scientific data whilst sharing clinical information on a peer-to-peer basis with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

  • Responsible for providing balanced and objective, scientific information and education to health care customers and internal business partners.

  • Establish new, and build upon the existing, professional relationship with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL's).

  • Organise and manage Australian Medical Advisory Board or Medical Roundtable meetings.

  • Liaise, support and report to EMEA Medical Affairs Managers, Scientific Advisors, Medical Directors, Medical Information and Clinical Directors as required.

Duties

  • Provide medical-scientific information to Australian HCPs regarding marketed and pipeline drugs in-line with Medicine's Australia Code of Conduct requirement.

  • Proactively gather information on the prescribing habits/treatment pathways of Australian clinicians and share these with the Brand teams.

  • Develop, maintain and distribute allocated medical information for marketed and pipeline products as directed.

  • Manage all planned medical tactics and studies as per the allocated "medical budget" to ensure all milestones are met.

  • Train all new internal stakeholders including sales and marketing staff in relevant Disease and Product Knowledge, maintaining a high level of ongoing training.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in pharmacy, pharmacology or bio-medical sciences and PhD or medical degree.

  • Demonstration of high performance in scientific communications role e.g., MSL or Medical Advisor.

  • Understanding of Medical Affairs function, clinical research principles and Medicines Australia code of Conduct.
