The Position

A 12 month full time fixed term vacancy has become available for a grade 3 medical officer. In this role, you will be utilising your skills gained in the Australian Health care setting to research, evaluate clinical data and dossiers prior to product being commercialised for medical device products. The doctor will review the information, take into consideration the safety standards and effectiveness of the product that is intended to be commercialised. The role is suited to a doctor that has a strong interest in public health. In this role, you will work with scientist, medical device companies and doctors.
It is expected that your role will be working in teams on health care related projects, be involved in regular training sessions, write reports and commentary based on clinical findings and research to support your views. Other tasks involved, reviewing clinical studies literature and attend teleconferences. Given the dynamic nature of the role, you will need to be a self starter and be comfortable with reviewing clinical research data and interpreting the information.

Requirements

  • Desirable Master's degree in Public Health
  • AHPRA registered
  • MBBS degree or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Health Care System
  • Strong desire to drive positive patient outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intepret medical literature
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Able to grasp new concepts
  • Excellent organisational skills, as you will be working on more than one project at a time.
