About the opportunity

This role will see you lead the operational delivery of laboratory and manufacturing spaces, providing support for day-to-day lab operations and team coordination. You will work hands-on to drive best practices in calibration, chemical safety, lab compliance, and equipment management. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong laboratory management experience who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment and is passionate about lab operational excellence.


Duties

  • Lead the day-to-day management of laboratory operations and facilities

  • Provide hands-on support and mentorship to lab coordinators and team members

  • Manage calibration schedules, servicing, and equipment quality control

  • Oversee chemical management, PPE practices, and PC1/PC2 lab compliance

  • Maintain and improve documentation, QMS processes, and SOPs

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and lab equipment suppliers

  • Assist with laboratory fit-out activities and support sustainability and asset management projects


Skills and Experience

  • Proven laboratory management or senior lab operations experience is essential

  • Strong understanding of equipment calibration, servicing, and laboratory compliance standards

  • Background in R&D, biosciences, pharmaceutical, or medical device manufacturing environments highly desirable

  • Familiarity with PC1/PC2 lab operations and asset management systems

  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach

  • Project experience or involvement in lab fitouts would be highly beneficial

  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
