Job description
The role exists within a purpose-driven organisation supporting high-quality clinical research that makes a real difference to patient outcomes. As the organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced finance professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
This is a part-time, onsite role (3 days per week), ideal for someone who wants to be close to the business and actively involved in building strong financial foundations in a values-led environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, this role offers a blend of strategic finance leadership and day-to-day execution. You will take ownership of finance operations while also helping shape systems, processes, and controls that support the organisation's next phase of growth. This is not a purely advisory role, you will be comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also thinking ahead.

- Overseeing day-to-day finance operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll oversight, and compliance
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and financial reporting
- Reviewing and improving financial systems, processes, and controls
- Supporting governance, audit, and reporting requirements
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide commercial and strategic financial insight
- Helping design fit-for-purpose finance infrastructure for a growing organisation

We are looking for -
- Significant experience in a senior finance role
- A hands-on mindset — comfortable working across both strategic and operational finance
- Experience setting up or improving finance systems and processes
- Strong judgement, pragmatism, and attention to detail
- An interest in or commitment to purpose-driven, not-for-profit, or mission-led organisations
- Relevant accounting qualifications (CA, CPA, or equivalent preferred)
