About the opportunity
Reporting above country to the global legal and compliance lead, the Director, Legal & Compliance will work closely with the ANZ commercial head to provide Legal and Compliance business partnering capabilities across ANZ.  Your ability and proven experience in working strategically in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector whilst having hands on involvement in the execution of legal and compliance responsibilities is critical for this role. 

This is a visible and high-impact role, with the opportunity to provide counsel on a wide range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters.  Your ability to work with complex legal and compliance matters specific to the ANZ pharmaceutical industry, as well as providing insights to the organisation above country as it upscales, is vital.

Duties

• Lead the legal, compliance and privacy directorate across ANZ.

• Partner with key stakeholders locally and above country to ensure alignment with all legal and regulatory requirements

• Work across a broad range of resource intensive projects including negotiations with government, major capital works projects and strategic alliances and agreements with key stakeholders

• Support Government Relations, Corporate Affairs and Market Access initiatives across ANZ

• Ensuring compliance and privacy best practice requirements are met

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Legal qualification from an accredited law school, admitted into practice and in good standing

• Current Australian/Victorian practicing certificate (or other Australian state)

• Legal and Compliance leadership experience in an Australian based pharmaceutical organisation

• Experience working in a complex, dynamic and cross functional corporate environment including sitting on country leadership team

• Ability to work between strategic and execution priorities across multiple projects

• Currently based in Melbourne or ability to relocate in the short term (including full permanent working rights in Australia)

• Ability to act with urgency as the organisation builds its global footprint
