Cardiologist

Job description

  • Supported by cardiac scientists, administration and sonographers
The Clinic

This cardiology practice is a fast-growing private cardiology clinic network based in Perth, with multiple state-of-the-art locations and a commitment to high-quality cardiovascular care. The practice uses modern technology, advanced reporting systems, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver efficient and compassionate patient service.

The Vacancy

Due to expansion, a (General, Imaging, or Electrophysiology) cardiologist vacancy has become available to join the team. There is currently a wait list of ~12 months, reflecting strong demand for much needed services — so you’ll be stepping into a busy practice with unsatisfied patient demand.

Key Responsibilities Depending on your specialty (you may be generalist, or have a focus in imaging or electrophysiology), duties will include:
  • Conducting outpatient and follow-up cardiology consultations
  • Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests: ECG, echocardiography (including stress echo), Holter monitoring, ambulatory monitoring, etc.
  • For Imaging specialists: advanced imaging (echo, CTCA, cardiac CT / MRI reporting if credentialed)
  • For Electrophysiologists: assessment and management of arrhythmia, device implantation (pacemakers/defibrillators), ablations, device follow-ups
  • Working closely with existing cardiac scientists, sonographers, and administrative support to optimise throughput, quality, and patient satisfaction
  • Collaborating with referring GPs and other cardiac specialists, contributing to case management and clinical decision making
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reports and follow-ups; participating in quality assurance, multidisciplinary meetings
 Support & Environment
  • Established support infrastructure: dedicated admin team, cardiac scientist, cardiac sonographers
  • Access to excellent technology and modern systems – imaging, reporting, CTCA,
  • Clinically efficient facilities across multiple sites; strong patient flow and referral base
  • Opportunity to focus on what matters clinically, rather than being weighed down by admin overload
Compensation & Terms
  • Service-level agreement with ~65% take-home of your clinical earnings
  • Flexible work arrangements (number of sessions, mix of outpatient vs procedural) depending on your speciality and preference
  • Opportunity to grow your private practice footprint quickly, given the existing backlog of demand
 Who We’re Looking For
  • FRACP qualified (or equivalent) Cardiologists, or Fellows in training nearing completion who can claim or bill on Medicare
  • Subspecialty training or interest preferred for Imaging or Electrophysiology but not essential if you are a strong general cardiologist willing to develop in those areas
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • High standard of clinical practice, with a focus on patient-centred care
