The clinic is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist to join the team and contribute to the delivery of comprehensive cardiology services. As a Cardiologist in Sydney's North West, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing various cardiac conditions, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Treatment: Utilise your expertise in cardiology to diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia's, congenital heart defects, and other related disorders.
Medical Assessments: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echo cardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac categorisations.
Treatment Planning: Develop personalised treatment plans for patients based on accurate diagnoses, considering the severity of their condition, medical history, and any relevant risk factors. Prescribe medications, recommend lifestyle modifications, or propose intervention procedures or surgeries when necessary.
Follow-up Care: Provide ongoing care and monitoring to patients, adjusting treatment plans as needed and addressing any complications or side effects arising from medications or procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals, including nurses, technicians, and other specialists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their cardiac condition, treatment options, and preventive measures. Empower them to actively participate in their own care and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cardiology research and treatment techniques. Contribute to clinical research studies, participate in conferences, and engage in continuous professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient charts, test results, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits, peer reviews, and clinical guidelines development, to enhance patient outcomes and ensure high standards of care within the organisation.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree:
Board Certification: Hold current certification or eligibility for certification in cardiology from a recognised medical board or association.
Claim and bill on Medicare with no restrictions
Track record of delivering high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.
Technical Skills: Proficient in performing and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures, such as ECGs, echo cardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations. Familiarity with advanced cardiac imaging techniques or interventional procedures is preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients, their families, and the health care team. Compassion, empathy, and the ability to explain complex medical concepts in a clear and understandable manner are essential.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and effective teamwork.
Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a diverse caseload
