The Client
This Cardiovascular Clinic is a leading cardiology practice specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. The Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Sonographer to join the team. The practice provides echocardiography services, general cardiology consults, management of chest pain, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia's, heart failure and valvular heart disease.
The Position
As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to patients.
Responsibilities:
Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations, including echo cardiograms, stress echo cardiograms, and other cardiac imaging studies, following established protocols and guidelines.
Set up and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
Assess and analyse ultrasound images, recognising and documenting abnormal findings for review by cardiologists.
Collaborate with cardiologists and other health care professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.
Provide patient education, explaining the purpose of the examination, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
Ensure proper documentation of procedures, including image acquisition, measurements, and patient information.
Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and report malfunctions or equipment failures.
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Stay updated on advancements in cardiac imaging techniques and participate in continuing education activities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
ASAR Accredited
Proficiency in performing echo cardiograms, stress echo cardiograms, and other cardiac imaging studies.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Familiarity with ultrasound equipment and software, including image acquisition and manipulation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and other health care professionals.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately analyse and interpret ultrasound images.
Commitment to patient care, privacy, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Current CPR certification- ALS/ BLS Certificate
