Scrub & Scout Nurse (Gynaecology)

  • Fabulous Sydney CBD location, NSW 2000
  • Part-time position (24 hours per week - Mon, Wed, Fri)
  • Day Surgery Unit for leading IVF clinic
  • Hourly rate ranging between $48.80 - $51.28 plus super, dependent on experience

This fantastic, industry-leading IVF clinic in the heart of the Sydney CBD is looking for an experienced Scout & Scrub Nurse (Gynaecology) to join their Day Surgery unit on a part-time basis. You will provide excellent care and support to patients undertaking infertility-related procedures, and work as a vital part of the team.

Duties Include:

  • Undertake day surgery RN duties including admissions, anaesthetic, recovery, scrub and scout.
  • Perform and assist with relevant procedures within level of competency
  • Provide patients with exceptional care and support, delivering clear and concise information when required
  • Effectively manage patient feedback and complaints, appropriately escalating where required
  • Provide nursing assistance for patients undergoing treatment in accordance with company policies and protocols.
  • Continually review work methods and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Report all patient accidents / incidents appropriately
  • Communicate with the multidisciplinary team to identify patients' individual needs
  • Assist the Director of Nursing to develop and implement processes, which allow for documentation and evaluation of the standards of service provided
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with clinical staff
  • Practice in compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) requirements
  • Support and adhere to the Company's Mission and Principles

To be considered for this role, essentially you will bring:

  • Current AHPRA (RN) Registration
  • 2+ years Theatre Scout & Scrub experience
  • Gynaecology Scrub & Scout experience
  • Experience working in a small theatre environment or Day Surgery setting
  • Demonstrated high level of Perioperative clinical knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of health care quality systems, accreditation processes and regulation
  • General knowledge of appropriate actions for OHSS, vasovagal episodes and prostaglandin reactions
  • General knowledge of IVF treatment and protocols (ART)
  • Application of clinical knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of initiative
  • Highly organised and ability to meet set objectives and time frames
