PHYSIOTHERAPIST
- Multiple roles available

Purpose of the role:
To assist the elderly population in aged care facilities to maintain their independence and freedom of movement.
Area of duty within the role:
Assessment an Review
- Perform physiotherapy assessments and care plans
- Perform mobility assessments, including gait analysis, and care plans
- Perform pain assessments utilising the Abbey Scale
- Prescribe mobility aides and assistance as appropriate
- Prescribe exercise programs based on assessment and goals
- Conduct review of physiotherapy and mobility documentation quarterly (or as requested)
- Manage record of resident's assessment and care plan due dates
- Review of residents following return from hospital and after falls
- Complete required documentation of assessments and reviews
- Complete assessments required for ACFI submission as requested by site Work with physiotherapy aide in developing exercise programs
Pain Management
- Create pain management directives under ACFI framework
- Collaborate with site management and ACFI managers to develop pain management program
- Perform 4b pain management program
- Complete required documentation of 4b pain management program in site system, and maintain records in our internal system
Site and residents
- Develop and maintain rapport with site's residents and management
- Liaise with resident's family where required to discuss physiotherapy and mobility care
- Recommend further medical or allied health referral if indicated
- Provide advice regarding manual handling, falls prevention, and safe mobility
- Liaise with site staff including management, nursing staff, and physiotherapy aides to ensure physiotherapy care of residents is delivered effectively
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or higher
- Current AHPRA
- Strong clinical background in physiotherapy
- Understanding of the ACFI framework Building and maintain rapport with residents, families, site staff
- Ability to establish effective engagement with older individuals
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Exercise prescription skills
- Mobility safety prescription skills
- Knowledge of equipment eg. mobility aides, exercise equipment
- Organisation skills, managing independent workload
- Drivers License
- Vaccinations up to date
