This wonderful hospital is looking for an Orthopaedic Nurse Unit Manager to join their collaborative team in the new year. The primary purpose of the Nurse Unit Manager is to promote quality customer service and excellence in patient care, provide leadership and promote clinical and operational strategies. You will also manage human, material and financial resources, as well as development and promotion of the Orthopaedic unit. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Practice in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
• Provide a safe working environment, complying with WHS, Infection Control policies, identifying hazards and completing risk assessments
• Provide staff with the necessary information, training and supervision to carry out their work safely
• Ensure all incidents are reported and corrective actions identified and implemented
• Fulfil requirements and support Return to Work Plans for injured employees
• Improve the facility by maintaining projects
• Provide excellent patient/family centred care
• Maintain and improve patient satisfaction where needed
• Provide the required standard of care, maximising learning & development targets
• Meet accreditation and participate/manage the National Standards Service Development & Innovation
• Meet budget, labour and efficiency targets
• Improve engagement of staff to Community Benefit programs and involvement in Community Benefit programs

To be considered for this role, essentially you will bring:

• AHPRA Registration and a current practicing certificate
• Experience in Orthopaedics
• Demonstrated management, organisational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated commitment to best practice
• Computer literacy
• Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination

Desirable:

• Understanding of risk management with the ability to initiate and implement quality programs
• Post graduate qualification relevant to position/or working towards the same
• Previous experience in a management role
• Membership of relevant professional organisation/s
