The Microbiology QC Analyst is responsible for biological and chemical evaluation of final product, intermediate products, raw materials, and production facilities.
Duties
- Microbiological testing using techniques like Membrane filtration, pour plate, and Spread plate
- Microbial plate reading and microbial identification
- Perform growth promotion testing of media plates and cassettes
- Perform result entry/authorisations in Laboratory Information Management System
- Assist with preparation, review and update of Standard Operation Procedures and Procedures for testing
- Sterilisation of equipment using Autoclave
- Investigation of out of specification results as required
- Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained / prepared in accordance with approved procedures
- General laboratory housekeeping and ordering of consumables
- Planning and implementations of small projects for compliance and efficiency gains
- Use of Microsoft Office applications and internal documentation and Quality systems
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Microbiology or Science with further studies in Microbiology
- Must have working experience with Microbial content testing and microbial enumeration
- Have experience in inventory management using SAP
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Familiar with the USP/BP/EP compendial requirements
- Strong pipetting skills and aseptic techniques
- Good knowledge of the TGA (PICs) and FDA requirements
- Strong GDP and GLP knowledge
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team or independently
- Problem solving skills and the ability to investigate historical data & trends and be a critical thinker
