You’ll be working leading designer, maker and marketer of goods and systems for use in acute and chronic respiratory care, surgery, and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

About the opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant with Tax experience to join their well-established Finance team.

Responsibilities
  • Review expense claims to ensure the are valid business expenses, complete, accurate, in line with FBT requirements and ensure presence of receipts and tax invoices, escalating any anomalies found.
  • Complete Payroll Tax Return, PAYG and BAS and assist with the lodgement of FBT returns and Wage Declaration for Workers Compensation.
  • Manage tax provision with month-end and year-end tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Assist with payroll accounting and reconciliation.
  • Prepare, analyse and interpret information to ensure accurate and timely recommendations can be made to the business about prices, costs, risks and profitability.
  • Ensure all relevant balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and timeously.
  • Check the payment file to ensure all payments are reviewed, authorised and processed accurately, payments are valid and processed according to procedure.
  • Support the AP and AR functions by assisting in problem solving.
  • Examine new AR accounts and ensure these are approved and set up according to procedure.
  • Examine AR accounts on a monthly basis and assist in providing commentary for all overdue balances.
  • Analyse and interpret financial statements and accounts to identify variance to budgets and business plan and ensure appropriate investigation and follow up.
  • Formulate commentary on monthly results to provide an accurate picture for management and as an input to company-wide reporting.
Skills and Experience

  • CA/CPA qualified essential
  • Big4 background considered favourably
  • 2-4 years’ experience in financial Accounting & 1-2 years in Tax Accounting 
  • Exceptional knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations
  • Efficient utilisation of ATO Portal and state-based SRO Portals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Advanced Excel skills
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable translation and communication of financial concepts to business.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Previous knowledge and experience in the SAP software system ideal.
