About the opportunity

Our client is currently seeking a Environmental Compliance Engineer, who will take ownership of their environmental compliance processes in Hardware Engineering. You will evaluate and monitor the global regulatory environment, maintain compliance documentation and technical files, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional engineering teams.

This position is perfectly suited to a detail-oriented engineer with substantial technical documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Support changes to present products and new product progress and ensure compliance
• Provide guidance and input into the work of other cross-functional resources within product development, regulatory affairs, and operations.
• Take ownership of product environmental compliance processes and databases.
• Plan, conduct and execute technical analysis meetings, review progress, and evaluate results.
• Review global environmental standards and regulations, including forward planning for upcoming changes.
• Conduct gap assessments to new and existing standards.
• Support sourcing and selection of suppliers of OEM components and products and liaise with those suppliers to ensure compliance documentation is available.
• Generate technical documents.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for development.

Skills and Experience

Graduate qualification in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 5+ years professional experience. Alternatively, equivalent experience in related field.

Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in Victoria is advantageous.

Knowledge with RoHS, REACH, Proposition 65, and other global environmental compliance regulations advantageous.

Must have full working rights within Australia.
