Educator and Quality Coordinator

  • Based in Blacktown, Sydney
  • 110 bed Aged Care Facility
  • Immediate start / Perm FT position
  • Great base salary plus super

This growing facility requires the expertise of an experienced Educator and Quality Coordinator who is truly focused on clinical care, developing the care team and ensuring the single site provider achieves excellence for its valued residents. Your previous experience with the new aged care standards, experience with accreditation, including announced and unannounced visits, coupled with building strong rapport with the clinical staff whilst coaching them, will be critical for success within this challenging, yet rewarding, role.

The facility is set on 10 acres and has well manicured gardens, which looks breath-taking in the autumn with orange, red and yellow leaves lacing the property and the birds are consistently singing their song!

Being so close to the M7 it will be a breeze to get to work.


Some of the duties include:

  • Provide clinical, quality management and continuous improvement advice to the single site
  • Proactively manage site visits and accreditation visits
  • Set and Complete identified audits
  • Monitor completion of Facility/Service audits as per audit schedule
  • Monitor quality indicators across the facility
  • Monitor, analyse, escalate and report on quality and clinical audit and indicator results and provide recommendations, through to completion/rectification
  • Monitor completion and ensure strategies are being actioned and measured, particularly in areas of identified non-compliance
  • Identify and investigate critical incidents and report outcomes
  • Actively participate and manage quality, clinical governance, policy and education meetings and forums
  • Actively contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, audits and quality indicators
  • Refer identified education and training needs to the wider team and assist in its implementation
  • Deliver relevant clinical, non-clinical and quality/auditing education and training
  • Provide staff clinical supervision/coaching
  • Ensure work is performed competently
  • Undertake competency-based assessments as required
  • WHS responsibilities - identify hazards, report, rectify and control
  • Monitoring of infection control data

About You

In order to be successful in this role you must have the below experience:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Current driver's license
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration clinical experience
  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience evaluating workplace practices against new accreditation standards, quality systems, and organisation policies and procedures
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and continuous improvement of quality systems
  • Clinical supervision and assessment of competency
  • Experience coaching a clinical team
  • ACFI knowledge
  • Knowledge of aged care legislation
  • Experience and proven success with accreditation and exp liaising with Quality and Safety commission
