This prestigious Aged Care facility is looking for some temp / relief Care Staff for their aged care facility. The facility has 3 wings on site, between 20-60 beds in each wing.

They specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services.

They are passionate about improving quality of life for people in need.

Purpose of role:

• Provide personalised care and support to residents in areas of personal care, domestic support and life engagement.
• Enable the resident to have the opportunity to succeed at the activities of daily living which promote dignity, self-respect and maintain the resident's quality of life and abilities.
• Model appropriate behaviour and encourage a calm, supportive and secure atmosphere.
• Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the condition of residents.

Some duties:

• Maintain personal hygiene of resident
• Assess & supervise resident at the toilet
• Assess continence care of resident
• Provide privacy & dignity of resident
• Ensure resident is dressed appropriately
• Maintain independence - prompt, guide & assist resident
• Provide emotional support & reassurance to resident
• Assist residents with their mobility & when transferring
• Communicate clearly with residents and allow effective communications eg. clean glasses, etc.
• Assisting residents - change all linen, gather sheets & towels for laundry, wash & iron personal effects, if appropriate, put clothes away, check clothing is marked
• Assisting residents at meals - cut up food & assisting with eating, when required
• Document behaviour management - assess, monitor, plan & evaluate
• Use behaviour management tools eg. BAF, ERIC
• Deliver a consistent behavioural intervention approach as part of a team
• Intervene, redirect/divert to another area or activity if the resident is unsettled
• If unsure & beyond your limit, contact manager/RN
• Provide opportunity for family input and consultation
• Assess & monitor behaviour management care interventions
• Develop behaviour management care interventions plan
• Evaluate behaviour management care interventions

Essential Criteria:

• 6 months experience in similar role in aged care
• Cert 3 in Aged Care

At time of interview you must provide:

• 100 points of ID
• AHPRA
• Flu vaccination document
• First COVID vaccination document
• Police Check, or be willing to complete it immediately
• 2 references
