About the opportunity
As the Associate Director Legal Counsel reporting into the General Counsel; your role involves collaborating closely to deliver daily legal support, offering strategic risk assessment and enabling ANZ affiliates to attain their business goals while reducing legal risks and adhering to local laws, regulations, and company policies.

Duties

  • Senior general business lawyer.

  • Expertise across commercial contracts and intellectual property law.

  • Exercising authority over a wide spectrum of standard and non-standard operational, process, project, or service activities.

  • Advise across areas including corporate, competition, property, privacy, product liability, regulatory and administrative law.

  • Advise and train the business on new laws, and provide the necessary tools to help support the business through these changes.

  • Collaborating with the global Patent Division to uphold intellectual property rights and offer business guidance on post-patent opportunities.

  • Providing advice on legal matters such as product liability, external legal disputes, and investigations.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years PQE.

  • In-house pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Scientific background would be advantageous.

  • Cross-functional collaborative skills across Compliance, Medical, Marketing, HR, Corporate Affairs and other business partners.

  • Advanced negotiation and interpersonal skills.
