About the opportunity
In this role you will responsible for managing i-body pharmacological characterisation activities; providing pharmacological characterisation capabilities to support i-body drug development programs.
Duties
Pharmacology and Cell Biology activities including -
*Quantifying i-body binding to GPCRs and other receptors or proteins of interest (Assays may include in-house or outsourced binding assays such as FACS, fluorescent imaging and radioligand binding assays)
*Support ex-vivo pharmacology as required
Pre-clinical development activities -
*Contribute to identification and selection of appropriate ex vivo and in vivo disease models
*Contribute to selection of vendors and management of same from both a project tracking and scientific perspective
Skills and Experience
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
- Previous post-doctoral experience, preferably in a biotech environment, would be highly regarded
- Strong FACS experience and proficiency in designing, executing, and analysing FACS experiments and understanding of ligand binding assays, such radioligand or fluorescent ligand binding assays
- An understanding of the design and execution of assays to measure GPCR antagonist and agonist activity
- General cell and/or tissue pharmacology skills * Primary and/or mammalian cell culture experience * Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
