Registered Nurse

This wonderful hospital in regional Victoria is looking for experienced Critical Care and Emergency Nurses to join their busy and growing Emergency Department. Ideally, you will come with qualifications in Critical Care or Emergency Nursing and will be responsible for providing excellent patient care. There are full time and part time hours on offer, so if you match the above criteria and are looking for a work-life balance, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain a professional relationship with all staff and function as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Provide high-quality and patient-centred clinical care
  • Refer patients appropriately when needs are outside scope of practice
  • Maintain effective communication with patients/clients, hospital visitors, colleagues and the multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrate respect for the patient's values, customs and spiritual beliefs to ensure care is effective and culturally appropriate.
  • Act as a professional role model for inexperienced and other staff
  • Support and supervise students as required
  • Participate in the development and review of clinical guidelines related to specific unit/department
  • Meet professional development requirements
  • Participate as directed in Quality Improvement programs and project management to ensure best practice standards are achieved
  • Maintain accurate data collection in data systems relevant to department, including but not limited to patient systems, reporting systems and projects as required.
  • Assist in the analysis of data relevant to the unit/department.
  • Complete all relevant documentation within required timeframes.
  • Minimise exposure to incidents of infection/cross infection of residents, staff, visitors and the general public
  • Report incidents occurring within the unit/department, facilitating corrective or preventative action when required in conjunction with management

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or higher
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Minimum of 1 years' post-graduate experience
  • The ability to work under pressure, both autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team
  • High-level communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Valid Criminal History Check (or willing to obtain one)
  • Satisfactory Victorian Working with Children Check
  • Completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration prior to commencement of employment.
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations

Desirable:

  • Completion of a Graduate Nursing Program
  • Completion of a postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care (or equivalent)
  • Training and experience in Emergency Triage and/or Resuscitation
  • Knowledge of current statutory requirements including relevant awards, OH&S.
