  • Up to $120K plus super
  • Permanent Fulltime - 38 hours per week
  • Location: Gulargambone, NSW
  • 12 bed facility

About the Role:

Your role will be to assist in helping build healthier Communities for rural people and thriving towns by creating safe, healthy environments that support the work of the health care team and contribute to patient engagement.

You will be managing and supervising staff and clinical nursing practice with a focus on optimal patient outcomes and professional growth for staff. Also included is case management, treatment planning, recruitment, rostering, improving processes, WHS responsibilities, mentoring and developing educational plans.

We are looking for an experienced manager who has post graduate qualifications.

The Location:

The town of Gulargambone is situated 550 kilometres northwest of Sydney and 115 kilometres north of the major regional city of Dubbo and has a population of less than 1000 people, of which over a third are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. If you identify as an Indigenous person, then please so let us know. Your insight is highly valued.

What will I do on my days off?

Gulargambone is a small town in the central west plains of New South Wales, Australia, on the banks of the Castlereagh River, in Coonamble Shire.
The town's name, first used by George Tailby around 1840 when he named his property "Galargambone", is almost certainly derived from the Ngiyambaa term "gilagambuwan" which meant "with young galahs" or "Gillahgambone" which was translated as "place of Galah parrots".

So you will see plenty of galahs in the flesh but also as corrugated iron statues on the land and in the town.

There are a number of walks in the Park ranging from short walks to longer walks ranging from 3.6 kilometres return (approximately 2 hours) to 18 kilometres return or approximately 5 - 7 hours. One of the most popular walks in the Breadknife, Grand High Tops trail which is 12.5 kilometres return and takes between 4 - 5 hours.

Being not too far from Dubbo, why not visit Dubbo Zoo and Dubbo Goal.

About the facility:

The Gulargambone MPS is a 12-bed facility with residential aged care services, palliative care and respite services, a range of integrated ambulatory, primary and community health care services and a 24-hour assessment and treatment service for people with lower acuity illnesses and injuries through a 'walk in health centre' model.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in the nearby larger facility which has a 24-hour emergency department, outpatient services including renal dialysis and a range of integrated primary and community health care services.

Key accountabilities:

  • Management and Supervision of the Nursing and Midwifery team
  • Operation planning and monitoring of service delivery, including implementing strategies to improve the service
  • Monitoring patient care plans
  • Ensuring facility budgets are met
  • Lead and develop your team
  • Rostering staffing and adjusting accordingly
  • Clinical care to support your team
  • Upholding expectations of National, Safety & Quality Health Standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Nursing or higher
  • Demonstrated Leadership and management experience
  • Experience with rostering, coaching, managing staff performance, working to budgets, conflict resolution and working seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams
  • Be able to confidently talk to about the challenges faced in nursing today

If you are passionate about leading a remote team and have the necessary skill-set and experience to lead this team, we welcome you to send your updated CV in WORD format and cover letter addressing why you are the best fit for the role. Please address to Mardi Steven.
