About the company

Our client is a Spanish multinational pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturer. They are a leader in the production of blood plasma-based products, as well as devices, instruments, and reagents used in clinical testing laboratories.

About the opportunity

The Maintenance Technician will provide technical and breakdown support for the production team in relation to automated machinery used in manufacturing products during business hours and on-call roster.

The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedures and by the due dates.


They will also be tasked with Coordinate and host the on‐site visit of external contractors for annual service and calibration of manufacturing equipment and facility.

Responsibilities

Preserve the high performance of all automation machinery involved in manufacturing products.

Ensure that un‐scheduled breakdowns or corrective maintenance of automated machinery and facility are kept to a minimum.

Perform the sanitisation of the water system as planned and adhere to standard operating procedures.

Communicate and assist in the training of production staff to increase their familiarity and improve workflow in relation to the use of automated machinery

Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and are performed by the due dates.

Ensure minimum inventory levels of critical spare parts are maintained on site.

Contribute towards and review company standard operating procedures that require technical input which specifically relate to automated equipment used by Manufacturing.

Analyse equipment failures or problems, engineering issues and address solutions promptly in collaboration with personnel from Production, QC and QA.

Identifies work requiring engineering design, and machine improvements and reviews them with the Production Engineering Manager.

Participate in the execution of qualification and validation protocols as required.

Skills and Experience

• Diploma or Associate Diploma of Engineering in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical or
related trades and certifications.
• Working knowledge of automation and PLC programming (Siemens, Omron, Allen Bradley)
• Ability to work under minimum supervision.
• Working knowledge of Maintenance software, preferably Fiix.
• Working knowledge of DOS commands and programming.
• Experience working with SAP R3 is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong working knowledge of cGMP and ISO 13485 quality systems is highly desirable.
• Good and effective written and verbal communication skills
