About the opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager ANZ, your role as External Affairs Director will see you working alongside the leadership team and above country SMEs in developing and executing the overall Government Affairs / External Affairs strategy for the organisation at an exciting growth phase. Your established experience will see you playing a key role in the organisation's strategic partnership executed with the Commonwealth Government. You will focus on shaping the public policy environment enabling the organisation to deliver innovative solutions for patients and consumers through thought leadership and external partner relationships.
Duties
Establish and lead the External / Government Affairs function for the ANZ operations
Work collaboratively with in-country internal stakeholders and SMEs above country to build the External / Government Affairs strategy for the organisation
Partner with key stakeholders to establish shared public policy goals
Manage relationships with industry trade associations
Assess policy and political matters that may impact the organisation
Develop and communicate policy positions through analysis of current and future political and policy trends
Work closely with internal stakeholders in developing the External / Government Affairs strategy
Skills and Experience
Significant experience as External Affairs Director / Government Affairs Director for a global pharmaceutical, medical technology or healthcare organisation, including in depth understanding and experience across the ANZ policy landscape (mandatory)
Strong networks across government agencies and authorities
Ability to challenge convention
Strong influencing and leadership skills (internal and external stakeholders)
Degree in Health Policy, Political Science, Law or similar
