About the opportunity
Reporting into the External / Government Affairs Director, this newly created role is an opportunity to lead the organisation's engagement with Australian State Governments. Your role will see you work cross functionally with key brand teams to identify opportunities and challenges that have the potential to impact the local business.
With a focus on developing evidence that adds value to state governments' decision making, you will be establishing long term relationships with policy makers to position the organisation as a leader in delivering initiatives that have a major impact on public health.
Skills and Experience
Established experience working in a Government Affairs role (ideally in pharmaceuticals, vaccines or an agency setting) and/or in state government or public health institutions in Australia
Intricate knowledge of the Australian state and federal government and policy environments
Excellent knowledge of healthcare systems including regulation, pricing, reimbursement and key stakeholders
Proven ability to think strategically in identifying key stakeholders and formulating and executing the organisation's strategic objectives
Ability to lead the strategy and execution on a range of projects concurrently
Highly collaborative approach with ability to influence external and internal stakeholders
Tertiary qualification in science, health, communications, government or policy.
