"I have a solid understanding of the role types and skill-sets needed to excel in this area."

Why did you decide to enter in the recruitment industry?

Recruitment is a people-orientated role and I enjoy building and maintaining relationships. I also love variety and in recruitment no two days are the same. I studied science and I also worked in Quality Assurance for 5 years prior to moving into recruitment so I have a solid understanding of the role types and skill-sets needed to excel in this area.

What was it about healthcare that appealed to you?

I'm a science nerd at heart with a passion for learning about advancements in healthcare. We work with so many companies and people involved in groundbreaking research and support the development of innovative medical technologies that will enhance patient lives. It's very rewarding to be a small part of the process.

"We worked together to ensure she was well prepared and comfortable going into the interview and the feedback was fantastic."

Tell us about your most memorable role placement. What were the challenges and achievements?

Worked with a Medical Devices Start-up Company with a new technology that will give hope to patients with a terminal cancer prognosis.

This company are so passionate about their work, and needed someone who could implement and maintain their Quality Management Systems to meet regulatory standards whilst also sharing that same passion and drive as the rest of the team.

I engaged with a candidate who had not been actively looking for a new role at the time. She lacked interview experience and the confidence to showcase her strengths, which I could see she had in abundance. We worked together to ensure she was well prepared and comfortable going into the interview and the feedback was fantastic. Not unexpectedly, she impressed the team and was on-boarded a few weeks later. She later told me, that a close family member had passed away from the same type of cancer and this role has given her the opportunity to help prevent this loss for other families.

What education background do you have that helps you with your current job?

I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Microbiology from the University College Dublin. The majority of roles I work on require a similar Life Sciences qualification so this along with my industry experience have greatly benefited me in understanding the technical requirements of a role, and in turn finding suitably aligned candidates.

"I enjoy sharing market insights, trends, and general career advice and recommendations to all parties."

Why a client or candidate should work with you?

With over 5 years recruitment experience within the Life Sciences sector, I am confident that I know the Australian market well, and I enjoy sharing market insights, trends, and general career advice and recommendations to all parties.
